Request for Volunteering Certificate or Approval

Dear amara I have recently contributed to Amara by translating several full videos, and I would like to kindly ask if it’s possible to receive a certificate of volunteering for these efforts. I understand that official certificates may not currently be offered, but having one would be very helpful in supporting my academic and volunteering profile. Also, I’d like to share a small suggestion: providing certificates or digital badges for contributors could greatly increase engagement on your platform, especially among students and young volunteers looking to showcase their work and skills. Thank you for your interest in volunteering on Amara.org to help make online content more accessible to the world! I will share your request for certificates or digital badges with our development team.


Certificates become challenging to track both the time spent and quality of subtitles before issuing certificates because each video and language have different time requirements. The time spent also varies greatly by each volunteer's experience level. Simple time-trackers will not solve the issue easily without a great deal of time required for internal reviews done by human reviewers using quality standards.

 

Until we are able to offer certificates for use in academic profiles you can share the link to your Amara profile activity to showcase your contributions. Anyone who creates a free Amara account and logs in can view your shared activity link.  


You can share this link to show the work you have done on Amara for references in academic and professional settings so people can see the work you have done.

 

  • You can share your Amara activity profile link via email, or on your favorite social sites like LinkedIn, Facebook or your favorite social site, so the people you share with can easily access your contributions on Amara and any teams you join. 
  • You can join the Amara community on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram to expand your professional network.
