When you link a YouTube account with Amara to synchronize captions and metadata, the translated titles and descriptions (if any) will be added along with captions to your videos.

To test if they synchronized correctly without visiting YouTube from the target region, you can follow these steps:


  1. Open a "Private window" on Chrome or Firefox, so it doesn't load the YouTube cookies.
  2. In the three dots menu, select a language (and corresponding country) for which the video has a translated title and description.
  3. Remove the &gl=XX part on the URL and reload the video. When the YouTube URL has that parameter (selecting the country adds that to it) it won't load the localized metadata, only change the language of the site.
