Why does drag-and-dropping Amara CC subs only work with Firefox?

Hi All,
The possibility to drag and drop CC subs in Amara videos around, even outside the player, is very neat and useful, particularly with the small player of the captioning widget when you are transcribing something written in the video. However, as came out in a G+ public discussion with Hartwig Thomas about this possibility, it works with Firefox, but not with Chrome or Safari. Could this drag and drop feature be made usable with other browsers than Firefox? YouTube has a similar feature - though you can only drag and drop the subs within the player - which works with both Firefox and Chrome but not, again, with Safari. I don't know about Explorer because I don't have it.
